Chris Menconi's dog sculptures each have their own unique and humorous personality. The clay dogs are whimsical although not true caricatures, life-like but not demanding realistic. The clay dogs are slab built by hand, and painted with slips and stains which impart true colors and textures.

Graduating from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1986 Chris Menconi began making animals the focus of his art work. Many people have tried to copy his original sculptures, but they never get it quite right. You can always tell a Menconi Original by the comical look on the faces (and the signature on the foot)!

Custom orders of your dog or cat are available. Chris can sculpt any breed (or mutt) and pictures are available upon request. Every family pet deserves to be immortalized with an original Menconi sculpture.
